The Long Beach Museum of Art and its Fundraising Affiliate, Phoenix, enjoyed a groovy celebration of 60 years of collecting and exhibiting art. This event included tapas dining, a hosted bar, a silent auction, access to our Celebrating Sixty exhibitions, dancing and a live musical performance by Magical Mystery Tour: A Tribute to The Beatles. The Long Beach Museum of Art is a 501(c)3 organization. $125 of each ticket purchased is tax deductible.
The Long Beach Museum of Art is a community-based non-profit that collects and cares for a permanent art collection, presents changing exhibitions in a variety of media and provides engaging educational programming for youth and adults. In serving its mission to be an educational resource to the community, the Museum offers a wide range of activities for all ages. It's a significant educational resource for the Long Beach Unified School District serving Long Beach, Lakewood, Signal Hill and Avalon. In 2008, the Museum campus received approximately 200,000 visitors, and more than 15,000 children, adults, and families participated in its art education programs. The Long Beach Museum of Art is Celebrating 60 years in 2010.
