The Elements of Art-Texture Crackle Painting
The formal elements of art: color, line, texture, shape form and space, are the building blocks of art creation. They can be analyzed, organized and manipulated by artists. They are the visual language of art, with each element as important as the next. This month, the element is Texture. Children will participate in a fun Crackle Painting project which will demonstrate the quality of an art object's surface. Click here for more information.

Reception with Don Knabe and Photo Exhibit

kick-off Book Week & Long Beach Reads One Book, the Long Beach Museum of Art will host a reception with special guest, Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe. The reception will include an exhibit of specially selected photos and stories from World War II as well as the Museum’s own paintings, USS Long Beach & Hidden Gold. Admission to the galleries will be FREE during the reception. Valet parking.
