KidsVisions Tours
The KidsVisions Program is available to all fifth grade students in the Long Beach Unified School District. The program content follows the guidelines of the National, State, and Long Beach School District Standards for Visual and Performing Arts. These tours begin at 9:30am and bus transportation is covered by the Museum. One adult chaperone is required for every 10 students. A special teacher packet will be sent to every confirmed tour. Docent Tours with Art Making
Docent Tours last one hour and are free of charge to school groups (public or private). Tours are available Tuesday through Friday beginning at 9:30 a.m. One adult chaperone is required for every 10 students for docent-guided groups, and adults must remain with their group at all times. There is a 40 student maximum for grades K-3 and 60 for other grade levels.
Adult Tours
Adult tours are available for groups of 10 or more, and are free with admission. Please submit your request for an Adult Tour three weeks prior to your requested tour time.
Self-Guided Visits
Self-guided visits can be scheduled by teachers who wish to conduct their own tours by writing “self-guided” for the program title on the request form. One adult chaperone per 10 students is required, and adults must remain with their group at all times. Self-guided groups may not enter the Museum before 11 a.m.
Custom Visits
Custom visits are available to teachers interested in connecting their visit to their classroom curriculum in a very specific way. To request, please enter “custom visit” for the program title on your request form and list the types of objects you would like to be included on this tour. The Museum will contact you to discuss the details.
To cancel your visit
To cancel your visit to the Long Beach Museum of Art, call (562) 439-2119 immediately. This will enable another group to schedule a visit in your group’s place.
