Artists Talk: Sandow Birk and Elyse Pignolet

Join exhibiting artists, Sandow Birk and Elyse Pignolet as they discuss their collaboration in creating, American Procession(2017), a large-scale print project that was inspired by The Procession of Princes monumental mural in Dresden, Germany. Measuring over 40 feet in length when combined, the three woodblock prints play off the concept of heroism depicted in the Dresden mural through the portrayal of significant figures from American history. On view as part of the exhibition, Monumental at the Long Beach Museum of Art. learn about the artists' approach and process from selecting the figures, carving the wood and printmaking. The event is free with admission. Reservation is required.
