The Long Beach Museum of Art presents LBMA After Dark approximately three times a year. Each a unique, lively nighttime art happening, complete with world-class artwork, music, live entertainment, and an appetizer and cocktail menu specially crafted to complement the featured exhibition.

LBMA After Dark is open to the general public with a $10 admission fee.
Admission is free for Museum Members + one guest! Sign up for a Museum membership at any level, and receive free admission for you and a guest for an entire year. Members come in at 5:00 p.m. to take advantage of a one hour hosted bar.
All food and drinks are offered through the support of Claire's at the Museum.

Musical performances by Miniature Houses, Sweater Girls, Tiger Tank Euphoria, DJ Chris Ziegler (LA Record) and DJ Plastic Nancy, live artist demonstrations by Long Beach Craft Mafia, Happy Hour Prices on Food and Drink and an opportunity drawing to win a new Apple iPad!

Featured Sweet Subversives: Contemporary California Drawings, Surviving Hard Times: WPA Artists, and 3313º Fahrenheit. Music by Greater California, DJ Fando y Lis, Happy Hour Prices for Food and Drink and local artists created new works!

We welcomed back DJ Scotty Coats and the screen-printing ensemble, Hit + Run. The Arts Council for Long Beach launched their Artist Registry and exhibition artist Sean Cheetham's band, Del Toro, kept us grooving. In addition to featuring a full bar and gourmet appetizers, guests viewed the Museum's two newest exhibitions - Novel Constructions; and Meeting New Works.

March 2009
Featured a sneak peak of the exhibition David Simon: Dark Forest. Guests enjoyed free beer and wine tastings, music by DJ Lithuanian Prince, new signature After Dark cocktails, and a tantalizing new appetizer menu.
November 2008
The languid songs of Erich Von Kneip and his backup band provided the perfect noir atmosphere to accompany the Museum's exhibition, Modernism and the Milton Wichner Collection. Between sets DJ Druthers entertained guests while they enjoyed free beer and wine tastings by Morry's of Naples.
June 2008
With DJ Scotty Coats spinning records, a local screen-printing ensemble, Hit + Run designed and printed custom t-shirts for guests on-site using images from the Museum's newest collection of exhibitions, The Joy of Five including Robert Rauschenberg and the Museum's recent ceramic gift from Frieda Bradsher.
February 2008
Our premier event was held on February 28, 2008, and featured the popular collaborative painting trio, the Falopian Artopians. DJ Nobody spun records and kept the vibe going. About Face: Portraiture Now and Three: Fern Bowen, Carl Aldana and Lori La Mont were on view in the galleries.
