Flight of the Imagination
“Use your imagination to create, dream, and solve problems”
Exhibiting artists, Sandow Birk and Marie Thibeault explore the process of creating imagined landscapes combined with elements from the natural world as a way to uncover and engage with certain aspects of historical or contemporary concerns. Middle-school students of Long Beach dive into mythology and use their imaginations to create mythical creatures they envision could reinforce a positive impact on today’s culture. The Museum is pleased to present a curated exhibition of original works by select students of Bancroft, Franklin, Hoover, Hughes, Marshall, Rogers, Stanford, and Stephens. Thank you to the Long Beach Unified School District, to all the students for their participation in this project, and to the teachers who inspire their students to create.
