Artist-Led Bookmaking Workshop

Location: Long Beach Museum of Art
In this one-day workshop, Rebecca Chamlee, exhibiting artist at LBMA and co-chair of the California Chapter of the Guild of Bookworkers, will teach participants how to create a variety of folded book structures. Students will make up to eight handmade books: single sheet book, explosion book, Turkish map fold book, a simple Jacob’s ladder book, and several books based on the accordion fold. At the end of the day, participants will go home with many books and the skills needed to make more!
Prerequisite: Students of all skill levels are welcome. Ages 18 and up only.
