About the Artist

Living and working in Southern California, Adam Harrison has built a practice that redefines traditional methods of portraying a physical space on canvas. By spending six to twelve months at one site, the artist himself becomes a part of the landscape and the community he is working in. The canvas then begins to take the shape of a living journal, documenting not only the physical characteristics of specific places, but also Harrison's impressions and experiences with them. Place is Adam Harrison's first solo exhibition. The featured large-scale landscapes focus on locations in Long Beach and San Pedro and immerse viewers in the physical spaces explored by the artist.
