After Dark Summer Event is Coming July 10

Come Dance Under the Stars with DJ Dennis Owens and live Music Featuring Local Bands No Silver Birds and Fathers & Suns; Purchase a Museum Membership Before July 10 and Receive Free Admission Plus One Guest.

Long Beach, CA – The Long Beach Museum of Art will host its summer After Dark event on Thursday, July 10 from 7pm – 10 pm. The event will feature live music from local bands No Silver Birds and Fathers & Suns, plus DJ Dennis Owens will be spinning records for the dance party under the stars. General Admission price is $10 but the event is free for anyone who purchases a museum membership before July 10. New museum members will receive free admission to the event plus one guest. In addition, new members will receive a free swag bag and a private reception invitation to the museum’s latest exhibition entitled The Paternal Suit: Heirlooms from the F. Scott Hess Family Foundation.

After Dark will also feature an opportunity drawing, a special food and beverage menu from Claire’s At The Museum, and guests will be able to view the Museum’s The Paternal Suit: Heirlooms from the F. Scott Hess Family Foundation exhibition. The exhibition will consist of more than 100 paintings, prints, and objects assembled by contemporary Los Angeles artist F. Scott Hess. The exhibit will be presented as legitimate historical artifacts, supported by photographs, documents, and historical ephemera.

“After Dark is our one of our most popular events of the year and we are looking forward to hosting it for our wonderful members and first-time guests,” said Ron Nelson, executive director of the Long Beach Museum of Art.
