NOTICE OF ACCEPTANCE

The submission window has now closed. Artists whose works are selected by the jury will be notified mid-November 2022. If chosen, artists will need to mail a 11″ x 14″ print to the Long Beach Museum of Art. The selected works will be exhibited at LBMA Downtown, opening December 2022.

How do you define an alternate reality within the medium of photography?

Through this question, we encourage artists to examine how a photograph creates a realm which lies somewhere between the truth and the imagination. Context and subjectivity versus objectivity are explored via singular images, culminating in an exhibition which investigates how one can alter the seemingly guileless scenes around us with the camera.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

• One image per entrant
• Color and B&W accepted
• All formats/cameras/processes accepted
• Photograph must suit printing on paper only

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Entrants must live in Southern California between Santa Barbara and Tijuana

SUBMISSION FORMATTING

• Images must be 72 dpi, and 8MB or less
• Name image file: LastName_FirstName_ImageTitle
• Email image to submissions@lbma.org
