Become part of the conversation about the status of women artists in the world of art in our new series, Feminism Ideals. The series continues this month with a lecture by nationally renowned artist and CSULB professor, Marie Thibeault, on February 26, from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Marie Thibeault received her BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA in Painting from University of California, Berkeley where she studied with notable Bay Area Figurative painters Elmer Bischoff and Joan Brown. She has a long-standing interest in extending the tradition of American landscape painting to abstraction. Her current large-scale oil paintings reveal an in depth involvement with extreme color vibration and oscillation, bodily memory and experience within the landscape.
