KidsVisions: Make a Plan – Dooley Elementary School
Long Beach at Play – Photography by Cabrillo High School
November 10, 2016- January 29, 2017
The Museum’s KidsVisions Program brings every fifth grade class in the Long Beach Unified School District to the Museum to tour the galleries and create art inspired by the current exhibition. During their October field trip, Dooley Elementary students created inventions to better the future. Come see their futuristic designs exhibited in the Toyota Children’s Gallery. Grants from the following foundations allow us to provide the tours and transportation to the Museum free of charge: Miller Foundation, BCM Foundation, Rudolph and Daphne A. Munzer Foundation, Arts Education Partnership Program, LA county Supervisor, Don Knabe, Dwight Stewart Youth Fund, Edison International, and US Bank.
Cabrillo High School teacher, Alice Bolstad assigned her photography class to take pictures of youth enjoying creative time in Long Beach. Visit the Toyota Children’s Gallery to see how her students perfectly captured the joy of play and carefree youthfulness.
